Kayla's Winter Formal

 Junior year Winter formal was in February.  Kayla and her besties had a blast getting glammed up and dancing the night away

The Amazing Shake 2024

 Brooklyn participated in the districts Amazing Shake again this year.  Last year she took 2nd place out of 200 something students (you can read about that here) and this year she took 1st place!!!

She spent several days being interviewed again and once again did great!  The last day it was the top four being interviewed by some of the district staff members.  She was asked questions about things such as AI, if the world is better with or without social media, etc.  She did so well and once again she blew me away with how amazing she is.

She had the opportunity to go on to Atlanta Georgia again this year but declined.  I was proud of her for making that hard decision and following through with what she knew she wanted with all the pressure of teachers trying to get her to go.  She went last year and did not enjoy it.  It was a lot and just not right for her.  She learned so much about herself on that trip and was happy that she made her own decision to go again knowing she would not enjoy it.

We made sure to celebrate her here at home and told her to pick whatever she wanted for dinner and of course she chose our favorite sushi spot for a delicious dinner.

Disneyland

Brooklyn and I were very jealous that Kayla got to go to Disneyland over Winter break with her friends so I immediately looked to find a reasonable priced day for us to go and bought the tickets. We were nice enough to let Kayla tag along with us even though she had gone a few weeks earlier.

It had been five years since we had been so I was beyond excited!!

I love this place!!!

Indiana Jones was first and we had the biggest smiles on our face the entire ride. 

The Haunted Mansion was still decorated for the holidays.  We were there just before they shut it down for the next few months for a major overhaul.

The new Star Wars area was awesome and we loved the Rise of Resistance ride.  We went on it twice it was so much fun.

Brooklyn is not a fan of roller coasters but we got her on Space Mountain.  She said it was so fun but then we saw the picture and we couldn't stop laughing!!!

Our second time on The Rise of Resistance.

Brooklyn would not shut up about getting a churro, she's just like her dad, so we finally got her one before we left.

Then we waited forever for her decide on what ears she should buy which she decided on the Monsters Inc. ones which is perfect because she loved this movie when she was little.

I had the best day ever with these two and made a promise to myself that we will try to go atleast once  a year from now on.  Nothing compares to the happiest place on earth especially with my girls! 

 

Happy Birthday to Me

 

I had the perfect birthday this year.

The girls, Chris and I drove down to the beach area to shop and eat dinner but first we grabbed my free Starbucks drink and then we shopped

We bought nothing but it was fun being out and looking.  

We drove over to Balboa Island after and walked around.   Itt was near sunset and so pretty.  I love looking at all the beautiful homes on the island.

Dinner was up next

I picked a delicious Mexican spot.  

We ate well that night!
